WARDED TO AMATEUR WIRELESS CLUB.So I had an idea over the hols! I know, remarkable really that I didn't just let my mind completely fester for the week.
Anyway, so I was thinking, since all you really hear about when you turn on the wireless or the BBC is news about the wars and people talking about the wars, maybe we should have our own discussion series for Hogwarts students. Maybe even professors can chime in too, but I really think this should be student oriented, since the other thing the wireless and BBC have in common is that you pretty much never hear what people our age think about everything that's going on. So this can be our outlet!
Maybe we can try and do these on a weekly basis, that is if you're all into the idea? They can have specific topics, and we can maybe announce them before the broadcast, and students can volunteer to participate in the discussion. We'll pick the topics based on whatever's big in the regular news, you know, so like conscription or whatever comes up. I do think we should focus on the magical war, because although I think everyone is affected by both, not everyone agrees and at least everyone realises the wizarding war affects them all. Of course, that doesn't mean we can't bring up the muggle war when relevant. With a talk about conscription, for instance, I'm sure it will come up.
What do you think??

Even with rations my mum and aunt still managed to stuff everyone with food somehow (even if the food is decidedly less tasty than it was pre-1939...thanks a lot, Germany). Who needs the house elves? Oh wait, does that make me a bad whatdoyoucallit, Heliotrope's group?-
I am entirely unprepared to go back to school, and I don't mean that in a strictly sentimental way, though it was nice to be with family...well, part of it were nice. The place was so bloody crowded with all the cousins and grandparents about, and Merlin's beard if I had to sleep in the same bed as Noah one more night I was going to murder him. He's not exactly the one I need to see more of. Anyway, what I mean is I didn't start finish all my homework assignments, so I'm literally not prepared. Though I suppose I do still have tomorrow too...
Hope everyone had a good Christmas!

WARDED PRIVATE.If there were two drafts, I don't know which one I would pick...or would I even have a choice? I know Grindelwald is a serious threat, but I don't think I, personally, have really felt the effects of our war with his army yet, whereas the Muggle Germans dropped a bloody bomb right outside my house that killed my grandparents. Isn't it justifiable, then, that I hate them more, that I want to fight them more? That doesn't make me a disloyal wizard, does it? Well, I know how a good number of my classmates would answer that one.
Still, let's face it, there are three wizards in my family- me, my dad, and my brother. So doesn't it make sense that the muggle war is more important?
Then again, bloody hell. My whole family is muggle, practically, and my dad's a muggleborn. That's not going to be very good if Grindelwald wins, is it?
Guess I'll just have to duplicate myself.
G6 + Cuthbert. What do you lot think about this conscription business?

Happy Chanukah from the Goldstein-Berkovich family...?
( Spell-o-taped in journal )
That's my cousin Micah, me, my cousin Shia (who appears to be causing me great pain by pinching my cheek), my cousin Nadia, and our grandparents, who apparently couldn't care less that all four of their grandchildren seem to be greatly distressed. This came in my family's Chanukah package today- my aunt found it in some old picture box. This may just be the highlight of all the things my mum sent me.
I guess this photo must be from 1925 or so. Well, here's to hoping this will be a better Chanukah!
WARDED TO GRYFFINDOR SIXTH YEARS.So I've got a mini-menorah Mum sent, and some food. Rations and all, it's nothing too grand but I do have a few latkes and biscuits and such if you want to have a little Chanukah party in the common room! We'll just have to try and keep the food away from people we don't like. I'm not sharing my latkes with some first year.

All the soldiers say, "It'll be alright, we may make it through the war if we make it through the night." All the people, they say, "What a lovely day, yeah we won the war, may have lost a million men, but we've got a million more." All the people they say, "It'll be alright. It'll be alright( It'll be alright now. )"
